SUBJECT: Recommendation for the vacancies

RECOMMENDATION: The Justice in Action Committee met on Thursday, June 2, 2022 and by a unanimous vote made the following recommendations to the Town Council for consideration:
• Cameron Sutton, Appointment, Chapel Hill or Carrboro Planning Jurisdiction
• Betsy Burke, Appointment, Chapel Hill or Carrboro Planning Jurisdiction
• Alix McKay, Reappointment, Chapel Hill or Carrboro Planning Jurisdiction
• Julia Cunningham, Reappointment, Chapel Hill or Carrboro Planning Jurisdiction
SPECIAL REQUEST(s): None
BACKGROUND: JIAC recommends Cameron Sutton to council as their perspective and various roles within the community and university aligns with the vision of JIAC.
JIAC recommends Betsy Burke to council as their volunteer, professional and personal values align with the vision of JIAC.
Note: Communications and Public Affairs notes that the Justice in Action Committee reviewed the following applications: Betsy Burke, Julia Cunningham, Luna Homsi, Alix McKay, Cameron Sutton. No additional applications were received between June 2, 2022 and June 8, 2022 for the Justice in Action Committee.
