Recommendation:  The Environmental Stewardship Advisory Board met on May 28, 2019 and by a unanimous vote have made the following recommendation(s) to the Town Council for consideration:

 

                     Hui Ding, Reappointment, Greenways Advocate

                     Bruce Sinclair, Reappointment, Regional Collaboration

                     Julie McClintock, Appointment, Stormwater Advocate

                     Noel Myers, Appointment, Chapel Hill Resident

 

Special Request(s):  None

 

Background:

                     Resident seat - Noel Myers (preference), Ivan Arrington (first alternate)

o                     The Board recommended Noel Myers for his professional expertise in the field of renewable energy, which they also recognize as being an important Town priority. They also valued Noel Myers’ commitment to return to the Town after serving previously.

o                     The Board recommended Ivan Arrington as first alternate based on his sustainable business experience and passion for the community.

 

                     Regional Collaboration - Bruce Sinclair

o                     The Board recommended Bruce Sinclair for his valuable expertise in the field of sustainability and his ability to liaise with Carrboro as a member of their environmental board.

 

                     Greenways Advocate - Hui Ding

o                     The Board recommended Hui Ding for her valuable knowledge and passion about tree protection, greenways and service to the community.

 

                     Stormwater Advocate - Julie McClintock

o                     The Board recommended Julie McClintock for her experience with Stormwater Management Utility Advisory Board.

 

Note: Communications and Public Affairs notes that the Environmental Stewardship Advisory Board reviewed the following applications: Ivan Arrington, Jackson Bradford, Hui Ding, Nathaniel Elliott, Selena Friend, Bhavani Iyer, Joshua Levenson, Julie McClintock, Ryan Mcguirt, Marirosa Molina, Noel Myers, Bruce Sinclair, Nancy Sinreich, Clark Slagle, and Elijah Yetter-bowman.
