Recommendation(s): |
That the Council review the proposed projects, ask questions about projects or categories of interest, and provide guidance on priorities and preferred projects for the Community Partner ARPA allocation, in anticipation of final approval later in the fall.
Key Issues:
• Staff last presented to Council on the American Rescue Plan Act at the June 8th business meeting <https://chapelhill.legistar.com/MeetingDetail.aspx?ID=907494&GUID=A68E0706-5CE7-4F18-A566-78FE0CDE1ED9&Options=info|&Search=>.
• The Town received 34 Community Partner applications. Applications can be found online here: <https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zzjd2Y1sUDqyVX5O_sdzeU6yBp26RXgl?usp=sharing>
• 31 applications are eligible based on pre-determined criteria, ARPA, and State of North Carolina conditions.
• Peoples Academy graduate volunteers and Town staff reviewed each application and assigned scores in ten categories.
• Scoring categories include eligibility, equity, general merit, connections within the community, and how the recipient will measure success.
