SUBJECT:                     Recommendation for the vacancy(s)

 

DATE:                     October 26, 2020

 

 

RECOMMENDATION: The Council Interview Committee: Orange Water and Sewer Authority Board of Directors met at noon on Monday, October 26, 2020 and by a unanimous vote made the following recommendation(s) to the Town Council for consideration:

 

                     John Morris, Reappointment

                     Kevin Leibel, Appointment

                     Hold seat vacant

 

 

SPECIAL REQUEST(s):  The Committee recommends leaving one seat vacant to continue to recruit applicants that bring different expertise and unique perspectives.

 

BACKGROUND: Mr. Morris wants to continue ongoing work ongoing work on the Long-Range Water Supply Plan, management of forest lands around the Cane Creek Reservoir, and policies to promote the sustainability of the Authority and its broader community benefits. He will continue to bring a good mix of skills.

 

Mr. Leibel has a strong background in communication in the form of polling, consumer behavior and research, and truth telling to share the broader story. He has a community, communications and marketing perspective, which is different from the technical and professional expertise already represented.

 

 

 

Note: Communications and Public Affairs notes that the Council Interview Committee: Orange Water and Sewer Authority Board of Directors reviewed the following applications: Todd Bendor, Adam Haggerty, Kevin Leibel, John Morris, and Pamela Schultz. No additional applications have been received between October 26 and October 28 for the Orange Water and Sewer Authority Board of Directors.
