Overview:  Public notice was given for a public hearing for consideration of a Conditional Zoning Application for Columbia Street Annex, 1150 S. Columbia Street, to be opened on November 4, 2020. The public hearing for the closure of a portion of Monroe Street right-of-way was continued to November 4, 2020. Delaying both public hearings is necessary due to agenda availability as well as staff and applicant discussions. 

 

Recommendation(s):

That the Council adopt a resolution calling a public hearing for the Conditional Zoning Application for Columbia Street Annex, 1150 S. Columbia Street, from Residential-2 (R-2) to Mixed Use - Village - Conditional Zoning District (MU-V-CZD) and continuing the public hearing for the closure of an unmaintained portioned of Monroe Street right-of-way to November 18, 2020.

A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR A CONDITIONAL ZONING APPLICATION FOR COLUMBIA STREET ANNEX, 1150 S. COLUMBIA STREET, AND CONTINUING THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CLOSURE OF AN UNMAINTAINED PORTION OF MONROE STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY TO NOVEMBER 18, 2020 (2020-11-04/R-5)

 

WHEREAS, Public Notice was given for a Public Hearing for consideration of a Conditional Zoning Application for Columbia Street Annex, 1150 S. Columbia Street, from Residential-2 (R-2) to Mixed Use - Village - Conditional Zoning District (MU-V-CZD) to be opened on November 4, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, on October 7, 2020, the Town Council continued the public hearing for consideration of closure of an unmaintained portion of the Monroe Street right-of-way to November 4, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, agenda availability and ongoing staff and applicant discussion require delaying the public hearings.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council calls a public hearing for the Columbia Street Annex, and continues the public hearing for the Monroe Street right-of-way closure as described above to occur at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the virtual Town Council Meeting.
