SUBJECT:                     Recommendation for the vacancy(s)

RECOMMENDATION: The Chapel Hill Public Library Advisory Board met on October 12, 2020 and by a majority vote of those present have made the following recommendations to the Town Council for consideration:

 

                     Tiffany Allen, Reappointment, Town Resident

                     June Dunnick, Reappointment, Town Resident

                     Ruth Morgan, Appointment, Town Resident

 

SPECIAL REQUEST(S): None

 

BACKGROUND: The Chapel Hill Public Library Advisory Board received the following applications: Tiffany Allen, June Dunnick, Ruth Morgan, Rachel Nelson, Matthew Tulchin and Megan Winget. The reappointment of Allen and Dunnick allows for continuity into the new Board year and each member brings a unique skill set which are assets to the Board. Additionally, the appointment of Morgan will also bring unique skills and perspectives to the Board. Morgan has extensive knowledge of the library, having served as a volunteer with the Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library. Morgan has used the library as a meeting place for mentoring and tutoring activities, and has a background in literacy development, mentoring diverse communities, and advocacy and involvement with children with disabilities.

 

Note: Communications and Public Affairs notes that the Chapel Hill Public Library Advisory Board reviewed the following applications: Tiffany Allen, June Dunnick, Ruth Morgan, Rachel Nelson, Matthew Tulchin and Megan Winget. No additional applications have been received between October 12, 2020 and October 21, 2020 for the Chapel Hill Public Library Advisory Board.
