Overview: After 2.5 years of community engagement and efforts to update the vision for the future of Chapel Hill, the Future Land Use Map (FLUM) - Update to Chapel Hill 2020 is moving toward adoption with a public hearing this evening. The Future Land Use Map (FLUM) Update to Chapel Hill 2020 will amend the Town's Comprehensive Plan, Chapel Hill 2020, by replacing the Land Use Plan and adding additional insights into the Town's desired future for 2050.


Recommendation(s):
That the Council:
* Open the public hearing to update the Town's Comprehensive Plan with the Future Land Use Map and its components, receive public comment, close the public hearing, and allow written public comment for twenty-four (24) hours following the closing of the public hearing; and,
* Provide any additional input on the Future Land Use Map - Update to Chapel Hill 2020, dated October 2020.

* Is it appropriate to move the FLUM-Update to Chapel Hill 2020 forward for adoption on November 18, 2020?
