Overview: At the September 11, 2019 <https://chapelhill.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=4126808&GUID=E1BEA670-F6AC-44D0-A992-366389FC345D&Options=&Search=> Council meeting, Justin Brown of Pennoni, applicant for the project on behalf of Wegmans, requested that Council consider limiting their review of the proposed Special Use Permit Modification application to the realignment of the US 15-501 service road across the State Employees Credit Union property. The realigned service road would connect to the Wegmans development at 1810 Fordham. The request is also to limit advisory board review to the Transportation and Connectivity Advisory Board and the Planning Commission.

 

Recommendation(s):

That the Council adopt the resolution limiting the scope of the review of a Special Use Permit modification to the realignment of the US 15-501 Service Road across the State Employees Credit Union property.

 

Decision Points:

                     The Council has the ability to limit the scope of their review of the proposed Special Use Permit Modification application if they choose.

                     The applicant indicated that the new full-access street connection will improve the quality and access to the project and improve area traffic.

A RESOLUTION LIMITING THE SCOPE OF THE PROPOSED SPECIAL USE PERMIT MODIFICATION APPLICATION FOR 1810 FORDHAM BOULEVARD (2019-10-02/R-9)

WHEREAS, Justin Brown of Pennoni, applicant for the project on behalf of Wegmans, has submitted an application for a Special Use Permit modification to the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill regarding 1810 Fordham Boulevard (also referred to as Wegmans); and

WHEREAS, the applicant has requested that the Council limit its review to the following items:

                     Realignment of the US 15-501 service road across the State Employees Credit Union property;

                     Connection from the Wegmans development at 1810 Fordham Boulevard to the realigned service road;

                     Review by the Transportation and Connectivity Advisory Board and the Planning Commission.

WHEREAS, the applicant is proposing the street connection to improve the quality of the project and area traffic by creating a new point of access on US 15-501.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council limit the scope of the public hearing and their review to the items referenced above.
