Charting Our Future Project Update

Overview: Charting Our Future is a two-phased project designed to chart the next course for the Town of Chapel Hill. The first phase, refining the Future Land Use Map, focuses on the Town’s key gateways, corridors, and activity nodes. The second phase of the Project is rewriting the Town’s Land Use Management Ordinance, which is the Town’s “rule book” that specifies where in Town uses, be they commercial; residential; mixed use; open space etc., are allowed as well as dictating the height of buildings and their placement on lots in addition to a myriad of other details.
Town staff will update the HAB on the status of the Charting Our Future Project, discuss the specifics of the refined Future Land Use Map, and receive any input from the HAB on the DRAFT Guiding Statements.
