Overview: During the Work Session, staff will present the results of the online preference survey, considerations for determining the character of each Focus Area, as well as considerations for which components of density, intensity, and character should be included for each Focus Area on the Future Land Use Map.
Providing direction to staff at this Work Session will allow the Charting Our Future Project to move toward the creation of a draft Future Land Use Map. Delaying key decisions may hamper such forward movement.
Recommendation(s):
That the Council provide feedback to staff on the proposed future land uses for each Focus Area
Decision Points:
* Consider the character, density, and intensity of each Focus Area, which include:
o North Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd;
o South Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd;
o North 15-501;
o Downtown;
o NC 54; and
o South 15-501.
Fiscal Impact/Resources: Requiring additional analysis at this point in the FLUM Refinement Project may necessitate additional funds beyond the existing contract with the Project consultant.
