Overview: The Planning Commission will receive a presentation on Vision Zero from Seth LaJeunesse, who is the Associate Director of the National Center for Safe Routes to School. Vision Zero is a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all. Vision Zero operates on the assumption that all traffic deaths are preventable, and embraces a systems approach to achieve the goal of eliminating them. The Vision Zero framework brings together multidisciplinary stakeholders who offer differing skill sets and perspectives to address the complex problem of traffic deaths and severe injuries.
