Overview: Tonight, Doug Plachcinski, the Executive Director of the Durham-Chapel-Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO), will present the MPO’s 2021-2022 Annual Report.
The DCHC MPO is the regional transportation planning agency in North Carolina’s western Triangle. In cooperation with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), the MPO is responsible for the planning and programming all transportation modes including highways, public transit, freight, bicycles, and pedestrians. The work is regionally based, but community focused. The MPO formulates and implements plans that will improve life locally and ensures that these plans reflect the expressed member communities’ needs. The Town of Chapel Hill is a member community and provided $65,148 in local match funding to support MPO operations for fiscal year 2022-2023.
