NCGS160A-174 <https://www.ncleg.gov/enactedlegislation/statutes/html/bysection/chapter_160a/gs_160a-174.html> provides for the creation of Ordinances through enactment by the Council. Creations, modifications, and/or deletions are required to be presented to Council for approval.

BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT*

A resident requested limiting non-residential traffic access on North Street from Henderson Street to access 125 E. Rosemary Parking Deck Entrance. Staff internally reviewed and discussed the request and decided to restrict the westbound left turns from North Street to the back entrance of 125 E. Rosemary Street Parking Deck.

TRADEOFFS, ALTERNATIVES, IMPACTS

Restricting westbound left turns from North Street into the back entrance of 125 E. Rosemary Parking Deck will reduce cut-through traffic on residential streets (North Street and Henderson Street).

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding for supplies and labor costs associated with this request will be paid out of the General Fund. Enforcement of the ordinance by the Police Department will also be paid out of the General Fund.
