BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT*
Evergreen, the consulting firm leading our Pay and Classification Study, has shared an update on their findings. Their analysis shows that our current pay ranges fall behind market peers by at least 10.5% at the minimums, 7.6% at the midpoints and 5.9% at the maximums. This gap is reflected in our struggles to recruit talented employees and retain them.
They reviewed our internal pay equity around gender, race and age and found that we have no significant concerns with how we address pay in those areas.
Finally, they are recommending we address the existing pay compression, revise our job descriptions, build job families that promote career growth and paths, adjust current pay ranges to match our markets and continue to provide pay increases to at least keep up with cost of living.
