Overview: After the Council approves the annual budget, periodic changes require the Town Council to amend the current budget.
Recommendation(s):
That the Council:
* Adopt the resolution, accepting the Outside Agency FY 2023-24 funds for the Summer Youth Employment Program.
* Enact the attached budget ordinance amendment to adjust the General Fund, Grants Fund, Capital Projects Fund, Transit Fund, Parking Fund, and Public Housing Fund; and
* Enact the attached project ordinance amendment to adjust the Affordable Housing Fund and the 2015 Streets and Sidewalks Bond Fund.

Summer Youth Employment Program Award - The Town of Carrboro has awarded the Town of Chapel Hill $10,340 for salaries to continue with the Summer Youth Employment Program for 7-8 Carrboro resident youth between the ages of 14-18 years old to participate in the Summer Youth Employment Program. Adopting the attached resolution authorizes acceptance of the Summer Youth Employment Award, and enacting the attached budget ordinance amendment establishes the grant budget of $10,340.
UNC Work Study - In the Fall of 2022, Library and Community Arts & Culture began using UNC Work Study students. Participating in UNC's work study program supports Town goals of Diversity, Inclusion, and Town-Gown relationships; helps students defray the cost of higher education; and exposes a diverse array of young adults to a Public Service Mindset. The University agreed to pay 65% of paid wages as a reimbursement. The amount to be reimbursed is $6,500 to the Library and $4,500 to Community Arts & Culture. Enactment of the attached budget ordinance amendment would recognize the $11,000 from UNC and allocate those funds to the Library and Community Arts & Culture budgets.
