Overview: The North Carolina League of Municipalities’ Legislative Policy Committee has been considering these ideas and will present its recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Board will refine the position further before sending them to the full League membership for a final vote. After the final voting period closes, cities and towns will have a focused advocacy agenda to pursue at the state and federal levels.

A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A VOTING DELEGATE TO VOTE ON THE PROPOSED NC LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES LEGISLATIVE GOALS (2023-01-11/R-3)
WHEREAS, the Legislative Policy Committee compiled and refined the submitted goals, the NCLM Board of Directors has reviewed, approved and now submits 17 proposed advocacy goals for your consideration <https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/NCLM/2020/12/17/file_attachments/1628912/Policy%20GoalContext%20Text%20%28004%29.pdf><https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/aqkYC1wPymUqQZLInI9o6?domain=lnks.gd> and
WHEREAS, each municipality will cast a single vote by selecting 10 of the 17 proposed advocacy goals <https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/NCLM/2020/12/17/file_attachments/1628912/Policy%20GoalContext%20Text%20%28004%29.pdf>.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council designates Council Member Camille Berry to serve as the Council’s voting delegate to vote on the proposed NC League of Municipalities legislative goals.
