G.S. § 143-318.10(e): “Every public body shall keep full and accurate minutes of all official meetings, including any closed sessions held pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11.”
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT*
Provide meeting minutes for Council review and approval.
A recent audit of Council meeting records identified that past Work Session minutes from previous years were never brought forward for formal approval. These minutes contain no formal Council actions, and it is fully appropriate for the current Council to approve them, as the approval simply affirms that the written record accurately reflects the discussions of the prior Council.
