Overview: Enacting the ordinance will allow staff to remove stops signs and install yield signs as a traffic calming measure to reduce speed. The yield signs will support the installation of a mini-traffic circle in the center of the intersection. This recommendation is in response to speeding concerns expressed by several residents.

Recommendation(s):
That the Council enact the attached ordinance, which would amend and remove stop signs at Redbud Road at Honeysuckle Road and Redbud Lane at Honeysuckle Road.

Key Issues:
* The Town maintains Redbud Road, Honeysuckle Road and Redbud Lane.
* Currently it is a two-way stop intersection, and staff will pilot a mini-traffic circle to reduce speeding.
* Residents have expressed concern about speeding.
* General Statute 20-158.1 provides the authority to erect yield signs.
* Town staff reviewed the concern and recommends the changes.

Fiscal Impact/Resources:
The staff estimates the cost to be about $500 for removal of stop signs, installation of yield signs, and installation of mini traffic circle. The Traffic Engineering Division operating budget could absorb this cost.
