LEGISLATIVE CONTEXT

The Council adopted the Town’s first Climate Action and Response Plan <https://online.flippingbook.com/view/857144275/> in April of 2021. Since that time, staff have provided regular updates on the Town’s activities and progress. 

BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

The attached staff report provides updates about how the Town is implementing the Council’s adopted Climate Action and Response Plan. <https://online.flippingbook.com/view/857144275/> The projects associated with these updates are led by staff across the organization and are broken out into four main action categories: (1) buildings & energy, (2) transportation & land use, (3) water, wastewater & natural resources, and (4) resiliency. Some of the actions within the report are labeled as Council priorities, which refers to feedback the staff received in 2020-2021 when the Climate Action and Response Plan was developed and adopted.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The attached staff report includes a series of actions that are funded by the Town’s Climate Action Fund, other Town resources, and various outside funds including grant awards, utility incentives, and federal IRA tax benefits. There are no additional fiscal impacts associated with this update.
