LEGISLATIVE CONTEXT*
The Council recently completed their evaluation of the Town Attorney and are prepared to move forward with a pay increase consistent with what they approved for all employees.
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT*
The 2024-25 budget adopted by the Town Council includes a pay increase for all Town employees to help attract and retain excellent personnel. As is customary, the Town Council deferred the award of a pay increase to the Town Attorney until after their annual evaluation of this Council-appointed employee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for all employees' pay increases are included in the 2024-25 budget, adopted by the Council on June 5, 2024.

A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A PAY INCREASE TO THE TOWN ATTORNEY (2024-11-20/R-2.01)

WHEREAS, the Town Council adopted the 2024-25 Budget, including a pay increase for all Town employees equal to 6% of the midpoint of the pay range for the employee's position effective July 1, 2024; and

WHEREAS, this increase is designed to attract and retain excellent employees by staying consistent with market pay; and

WHEREAS, in taking this action, the Town Council acknowledges that the excellent service the Town receives is a result of the good work of excellent employees; and

WHEREAS, there is no pay range defined for Council-appointed positions; and

WHEREAS, the Town Council has traditionally deferred the award of the budgeted pay increase for the Town Attorney until after their annual evaluation of this Council-appointed employee; and
