Development regulations adopted under the Town’s planning and zoning authority must be adopted by ordinance. N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160D-601.
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT*
The Town is rewriting its Land Use Management Ordinance (LUMO) for the first time in over 20 years. Staff expect to share a draft of the updated LUMO this summer.
Council previously established a framework of shared interests to guide their future discussions and review of the draft LUMO. This meeting is an opportunity for staff to report on how the draft LUMO will meet Council’s stated interests.
COMPLETE COMMUNITY CONNECTION
The LUMO Update is an opportunity to implement various elements of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, with the Complete Community at the forefront.
