Overview: The Town Attorney announced his retirement, effective August 31, 2020. The Council worked with Developmental Associates to recruit, assess, and select the next Town Attorney. At the conclusion of that process, the Council selected a finalist and extended a conditional offer to the selected candidate.

That the Council adopt a resolution appointing a new Town Attorney and authorizing the Mayor to execute an employment contract on behalf of the Town.

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ANN ANDERSON AS THE CHAPEL HILL TOWN ATTORNEY EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 (2020‐07‐29/R-2)
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council hereby appoints Ann Anderson to begin service as Town Attorney effective September 1, 2020, at an annual base salary of $165,000, and authorizes the Mayor to execute an employment contract with Ann Anderson on behalf of the Town.
