PROCEDURAL CONTEXT

The Land Use Management Ordinance, Town Code Appendix A Section 4.4 requires Council approval of any proposed zoning map amendment.

BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

The Town Manager proposes a modification to the Zoning Atlas to rezone the Greene Tract located at 1900 Purefoy Drive from Rural Transition District (RT) to Housing and Employment Mixed-Use Subdistrict (HR-X). Please see the Staff Report for more information.

Comprehensive plan CONNECTION

The property is located within the North MLK Jr. Blvd Focus Area. This area is intended for diverse housing options under concurrent planning efforts. For more analysis of Complete Community considerations, please see the Staff Report.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Staff have provided mailed notice to neighbors and other notifications according to LUMO requirements. A significant community engagement effort was conducted in 2024. Please see the Staff Report for more information.
