LEGISLATIVE CONTEXT*
Original signed agreement was authorized as an Interlocal Agreement pursuant to Part I, Article 20 of Chapter 160A of the General Statues of North Carolina.
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT*
Original agreement was signed June 8, 2015, and a five year extension was approved in 2019. Town of Chapel Hill is a signatory to the Interlocal Agreement. The Town helped acquire the land, however, does not have any management responsibility for the park. Orange and Durham Counties operate the park, with areas of responsibility split along Pickett Road near the county line.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
No financial impact as the Town of Chapel Hill is only a signatory party on this Interlocal Agreement and does not have any management or operational responsibilities of the park.
