Overview: After the Council approves the annual budget, periodic changes require the Town Council to amend the current budget.
Recommendation(s):
That the Council:
* Enact the attached budget ordinance amendment to adjust the Grants Fund, Transit Fund, and Library Gift Fund; and
* Enact the attached project ordinance amendment to adjust the 2015 Streets and Sidewalks Bond Fund and the Transit Capital Grants Fund; and
* Adopt the attached resolution to accept the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Grant and Governor's Highway Safety Grant.

Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board Grant - The Orange County ABC Board awarded the Town of Chapel Hill $75,630 to continue supporting the Police Department's alcohol law enforcement efforts. These funds will be used for overtime salaries and special use funds for alcohol operations, equipment and supplies relating to those operations, and fuel and maintenance for the Town's designated vehicle used during those operations. The grant award also includes $35,000 for the purchase of a new vehicle. There are no matching requirements for this grant. Adoption of the attached resolution authorizes acceptance of the ABC Grant, and enactment of the attached budget ordinance amendment establishes the grant budget of $75,630.
Triad Foundation Grant - The Triad Foundation awarded the Town of Chapel Hill Police Department a $175,000 grant. The grant funds will be used to purchase an advanced training simulator to improve officer decision-making, teach de-escalation techniques, ensure ongoing performance improvement, and promote accountability and transparency in policing.
