Overview: On September 11, 2019 <https://chapelhill.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=4126810&GUID=F8BA0754-AAA2-474C-B0EB-4D344C4711C9&Options=&Search=>, the Town Council created a Task Force, charged with developing a set of final recommendations for a dedicated Short Term Rentals (STRs) ordinance. The STR Task Force met on October 16, November 6, December 11, and January 15 and outlined some key issues for consideration as part of the proposed Ordinance to regulate STRs. The Task Force will finalize their discussion and create a final set of recommendations for Council consideration on February 5, 2020.

That the Council receive this written update. This issue will be scheduled as a discussion item for a Council meeting in March.
Fiscal Impact/Resources: Staff resources and time to support the Task Force.
