memorandum
to:                     Mayor and Town Council
from:                     Scott Maitland, Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership Board Chairperson
subject:                     Recommendation for the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership Board vacancy(s)
date:                     Thursday, May 10, 2018

Recommendation:  The Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership met on Thursday, May 10, 2018, and by a unanimous vote have made the following recommendation to the Town Council for consideration:
•                     Mimi Hock, Appointment, Town Appointed Seat/Downtown Property Owner
Background: The Board of Directors for the Downtown Partnership are excited for Mimi Hock to be appointed to the Board as a property owner representative in the downtown business district. Mimi brings a truly unique perspective to the organization that is rare to replicate; she is a downtown property and business owner, as well as a downtown resident. Mimi brings to the board the knowledge of what it truly means to live/work/play/learn in the downtown. The Board believes Mimi’s extensive experience in property development, business ownership, and understanding the needs of our downtown business environment - will serve the agency and board well.

Note: Communications and Public Affairs notes that the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership reviewed the following applications for the Downtown Property Owner seat: Mimi Hock. No additional applications were received between May 10, 2018 and June 4, 2018.
