Overview: At the January 10, 2018 work session, the Council received a proposal from Developmental Associates on a process to search for a Town Manager.

That the Council authorize the Mayor to execute a contract with Developmental Associates to search for a Town Manager.
Key Issues:
• The Council received a proposal from Developmental Associates at their January 10, 2018 Work Session to partner with the Town of Chapel Hill to recruit, assess and select the next Town Manager.
• The Developmental Associates goals for recruitment, screening and selection are provided below:
o Provide a diverse pool of high quality candidates from a national and statewide recruitment base.
o Provide comprehensive information about candidates using a multi-method screening approach.
o Provide in-depth and accurate information about the top candidates for the position using an assessment center process, psychometric tests and extensive background checks.
• The attached Developmental Associates proposal includes an outline of the process with proposed dates that were affirmed at Council Work Session.
• The next step in the process is for the Council to authorize the Mayor to execute a contract with Developmental Associates to search for a Town Manager.
Fiscal Impact/Resources: The fee for services proposed is $22,150.

A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SERVICE CONTRACT FOR THE SEARCH FOR A TOWN MANAGER (2018-01-24/R-14)
WHEREAS, Chapel Hill Town Manager Roger Stancil announced his pending retirement on November 15, 2017; and
WHEREAS, at the January 10, 2018 work session the Council received a proposal from Developmental Associates on a process to search for a Town Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorize the Mayor to execute a contract with Developmental Associates, consistent with the terms presented in proposal presented and reviewed by the Council on January 10, to search for a Town Manager.
