RECOMMENDATION: The Housing Advisory Board met on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 and by a unanimous vote made the following recommendation(s) to the Town Council for consideration:

 

                     Anne Hoole, Reappointment, Real Estate Broker

                     Susan Hunter, Appointment, Homeowner/Tenant

                     Dustin Mills, Appointment, For-Profit Developer

                     Mark Shelburne, Appointment, Housing, Planning, or Policy Expert

 

SPECIAL REQUEST(s):  None

 

BACKGROUND:

Anne has volunteered to serve a second term on this seat and has proven to be a valuable member of the Housing Advisory Board. 

 

Sue has experience on local government advisory boards with her work on the Orange County Planning Commission and an interest in affordable housing.  Sue chose the Housing Advisory Board as her preferred Town advisory board to serve. 

 

Dustin brings the development experience the HAB is looking for with over 20 years of development experience and with a deep knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.  He is the most experienced of the applicants.

 

Mark brings a wealth of knowledge through his career experience with leading affordable housing public policy creation at the NC Housing Finance Agency.  Most of his career has been in North Carolina but is currently working with finance agencies across the country and can bring knowledge of what other states are doing. 

 

 

Note: Communications and Public Affairs notes that the Housing Advisory Board reviewed the following applications: Tara Cotton, Julius Coulter, Ann Hoole, Barbara Hummel, Susan Hunter, Jamine Ifedi, Karo-D’Vera Johnson-El, Dustin Mills, Mariana Molina, Frank Muraca, Heather Nash, Ehmu Ra, Nikkima Santos, Jenny Schwade, Mark Shelburne, Michael Webb, and Benjamin Williams. Ehmu Ra withdrew application. No additional applications have been received between September 8, 2020 and September 30, 2020 for the Housing Advisory Board.
