Virtual Meeting Voting process
The Mayor will ask a Council Committee member for a nomination. She will then conduct a roll call vote to confirm the appointments. We provided a summary sheet like our traditional ballot for you to prepare prior to the vote. This change in process is due to Session Law 2020-3, SB 704 <https://www.ncleg.gov/Sessions/2019/Bills/Senate/PDF/S704v6.pdf>, section 166A-19.24(b)(5) states “All votes shall be roll call; no vote by secret or written ballots, whether by paper or electronic means or in accordance with G.S. 143-318.13(b), may be taken during the remote meeting.”
